FIS Grants Module
Managing Grants and Contracts
Now that you have been approved to view financial information and initiate or approve financial transactions in the UO Banner Financial Information System (FIS), we would like to tell you about additional training and resources that are available and strongly recommended if you:
- Prepare grant and contract proposals and budgets
- Manage grant and contract accounts
- Prepare personnel appointments and payroll forms on grants or contracts
Banner FIS has a separate Grants Module with slightly different screens, reports and queries from the general finance modules. The Grants Module has a collection of forms that facilitate the project accounting process, a necessity in view of sponsored projects' special characteristics, terms and conditions. Examples of special grant and contract elements are funding and managing by project-period rather than fiscal year, the possible application of indirect charges to some or all activities, a sponsor-approved budget with potential for award-specific restrictions on expenditures, and tracking of costshare or matching fund sources for reporting to sponsors.
Some of the special Grants Module Banner screens you will find useful include:
- FRAGRNT - Grant Main Query Form
- FRIGRNT - Grant Code Inquiry Form
- FRIKGNT - Grant Title Search Form
- FRIORGH - Grant Organization Inquiry Form
- FRIPSTG - Grant Personnel Inquiry Form
- FTMFUND - Fund Code Maint Query Form
- FWIGITD - UO Grant/Project Budget Status
- FZIGRNT - Grants and Projects Query
- FZITRND - Grant Detail Transaction Activity
