ORSA is now taking registrations for winter term workshops on research
administration. The seminars and computer labs will interest both department
grant administrators and faculty PIs. Call 6-5131 (or send an e-mail to
Research_Services@orsa.uoregon.edu) to register for any or all of the
following sessions: 

Proposal Development and Clearance -- Funding information, agency forms,
using web resources, writing proposals (including budgets), proposal
clearance and submission. January 20, 9-11am, Walnut-EMU.

Cost Transfers for Grants and Contracts -- Learn what you need to know so
that your journal vouchers will "pass audit and ORSA muster".  February 3,
9:00-11:00 am, Walnut-EMU.

Research Administration 101  --  a general overview of sponsored programs
administration at the UO and other information.  February 11, 9-11:30am,
McKenzie Conference Room (which is in ORSA's office).

Budget Development -- Agency guidelines, regulations, budget categories and
rates, cost sharing, find out what "F&A" means and more.  February 15,
9:00-11:00 am, Walnut-EMU.

Modular Grants -- The "new way" to do grant applications at NIH.  Learn how
to use ORSA's budget template to compute your budget.  March 1, 1-3pm,
Walnut-EMU.

Banner GUI (computer lab) - To familiarize you with grant tools available in
FIS and to answer any questions you might have.  January 27, 1-3pm, FIS Lab,
13th & Hilyard St.

Budgets in Excel (computer lab) - Using MS Excel to design and alter budgets
for any agency, link to agency forms.  February 22, 1-3pm, FIS Lab, 13th &
Hilyard St.

NSF FastLane (computer lab) - Using the web-based system from NSF for
proposal preparation, reports, status checks, extensions, and other uses.
March 7, 1-3pm, FIS Lab, 13th & Hilyard St.
