grant-admin-arch: Grant-Admin-News: Spring Term Training Sessions
ORSA is now taking registrations for spring term workshops on research
administration. The seminars and computer labs will interest both department
grant administrators and faculty PIs. Call 6-5131 (or send an e-mail to
Research_Services@orsa.uoregon.edu) to register for any or all of the
following sessions:
Administrative Actions -- Make revisions to project plans, budget
categories, key personnel, project period, etc.--grant terms, agency rules,
prior approvals that are required. April 4, 1:30-3:30pm, Walnut Room, EMU
Award Documents and Account Set-up--When wards are received--grant terms and
conditions, account set-up, PI, DGA and ORSA responsibilities. April 17,
9am-11am, Alsea-Coquille Rooms, EMU
Allowable Costs--All expense charges to grants and contracts are potentially
unallowable--have you tested the expense transaction as an allowable cost?
Typical "questioned costs" and UO interpretations of allowable and
unallowable expenses. April 24, 9am-11am, Walnut Room, EMU
Closeouts--A general overview of the grant/contract closeout process,
including fun facts about file retention. May 2, 9am-11am, Walnut Room, EMU
Banner GUI (computer lab) - To familiarize you with grant tools available in
FIS and to answer any questions you might have. May 11, 1:30-3:30pm, FIS
Lab, 13th & Hilyard St.
Modular Grants -- The "new way" to do grant applications at NIH. Learn how
to use ORSA's budget template to compute your budget. March 18, 9am-11am,
Walnut-EMU.
