The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has just issued several
announcements relevant to proposals and awards in FY 2001.  You can find
the complete announcements on Salary Cap, NRSA Stipend Levels, and
NIH-Required Application Format in the January 12, 2001, NIH Guide at

                   Summary:
                   This is to bring to your attention three important
announcements in the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts for the
                   week ending January 12, 2001. The first involves the
Salary Limitation on Grants, Cooperative Agreements and
                   Contracts in FY 2001 and provides detailed
information on changes from last Fiscal Year. The second concerns a
                   National Research Service Award (NRSA) Stipend
Increase and Other Budgetary Changes Effective for Fiscal Year
                   2001. Lastly, NIH has provided guidance on the Format
of Grant and Cooperative Agreement Applications Submitted
                   to NIH.
