Grant-Admin-News: New OPE (Fringe Benefit Rates)

February payroll charges reflect new OPE (fringe benefit) 
rates.  As a recent PAYNEWS announcement indicated, the 
additional costs represent the UO's portion of PEBB benefit 
coverage for the current plan year.  The new monthly rates 
went into effect February 1, 2001, and are as follows:  
Classified -- $479/month and Unclassified -- $476/month.  
This monthly rate is used when computing OPE costs on the 
actual OPE rate basis.

ORSA will not change the estimated (average-based) rates at 
this time, but it is always advisable to compute OPE costs on 
both the estimated and actual basis.

website (http://orsa.uoregon.edu) in the Announcements 
section entitled "Fringe Benefit Rate Change"  (see Chart 
B--Actual OPE Rates 2000-01).
