We are pleased to announce the next event for UO Department Grant
Administrators (DGAs) to apply for funding from ORSA under the DGA
Travel Award Program:
NSF REGIONAL GRANTS CONFERENCE

The University of Washington is sponsoring a National Science Foundation
Regional Grants Conference in Seattle on November 1 and 2, 2001. This
conference provides information valuable to researchers, educators, and
research administrators.
* Workshops and presentations covering all topics relevant to NSF
grants, including:
NSF Overview
Proposal Preparation
Merit Review
Breakout Sessions with Individual NSF Program Officers
Challenges, Opportunities, and New Directions
Award and Administration Issues
Cross-disciplinary and Special Interest Programs
Hands-on FastLane Workshops
* Presentations by 24 NSF Program and Management staff from:
Biological Sciences
Computer and Information Sciences
Education and Human Resources
Engineering
Geosciences
Integrative Programs
International Programs
Mathematical and Physical Sciences
Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences
Budget and Planning
FastLane
Grants and Agreements
Policy and Compliance
* Registration Fee
The registration fee includes the conference reception on Thursday,
November 1, coffee breaks, two continental breakfasts, and a box lunch
on Thursday, November 1. Fees are as follows:
$175 - Conference only, until October 19, 2001
$185 - Conference plus FastLane Workshop (Friday, November 2, 1:30-3:30
p.m.) until October 19, 2001
$195 - Conference only, after October 19, 2001
$205 - Conference plus FastLane Workshop (Friday, November 2, 1:30-3:30
p.m.), after October 19, 2001
Eligibility criteria, application information and forms are available on
ORSA's web site at http://orsa.uoregon.edu under "Training".
Submit all application materials to the Office of Research Services and
Administration (ORSA), Suite 106 Riverfront Research Park, by 5 p.m.
October 10, 2001. Contact Karen Findtner in ORSA at 6-2508 with any
questions concerning the DGA Travel Award Program or this conference.
