Grant-Admin-News: NIH Mailing Instructions
National Institutes of Health (NIH) has changed their mail acceptance
policy, effective immediately.
All new and competitive-continuation (renewal) applications and other
deliveries to the Center for Scientific Review (CSR) must either come
via courier delivery or the U.S. Postal Service. No individual
deliveries in person will be accepted. Any mail sent by courier
(FEDEX, UPS, DHL, etc.) for the receipt of grant applications addressed
to the CSR should use the NIH Zip Code 20817. Any mail being sent
through the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) must use the unique NIH Zip Code
20892. Mail being addressed to the National Library of Medicine should
use the NLM Zip Code 20894. These last two zip codes are being
processed through the NIH North Stonestreet Mail Facility to ensure the
safety of all individuals that handle the mail.
This does not apply to Type 5 Non-competing continuations. For the Type
5 continuations, please contact ORSA (6-5131) for the correct address.
ORSA now has a FEDEX account and will be handling these shipments
in-house.
The cooperation of applicant and grantee organizations is greatly
appreciated and allowances should be made for the extra time needed to
properly process incoming USPS mail and other deliveries
