Grant Admin News: State-Funded Projects

Announcement to Project Directors of State-Funded Projects:

ORSA has learned that, due to the dire budget situation this biennium
for the State of Oregon, several state agencies already have or will be
canceling new contracts or terminating existing contracts early without
full payment. The UO faculty and staff, who are project directors on
state-funded grants or contracts, should be aware of this situation and
its potential ramifications.  Early termination can affect appointments
for UO personnel, as well as outside consultants or subcontract
institutions working on the project under contractual agreements.

Any UO project director notified by the agency, either formally in
writing or informally by phone or email, that funding may not be
forthcoming as planned, should contact ORSA immediately for assistance
with administrative issues related to closing down the project and
obtaining final payment.  Please call ORSA's main number at 6-5131 or
the individual Sponsored Projects Administrator (SPA) for assigned units
for further information.
